"I started building my first steel guitar in 1978 while living in Clifton, New Jersey. After a year of research and work, I ended up with a D-10 steel guitar that played very well. It had a nice tone and weighed over 70 pounds, so I didn't have to worry about it dancing across the floor when I pushed a knee lever.
I had no intentions at the time to build any more, but after several friends asked me to build one for them, I changed my mind. After some much needed refinements, I started building custom steel guitars in 1984. In that same year, I developed a keyless tuner that has been very well accepted among keyless players. The weight of the guitar has been scaled down so that a D-10 now weighs in at 38-42 pounds.
All LAMAR steel guitars are custom built to your specifications. That's why you won't find any two alike. They are truly "professional grade" and unmatched in quality and worksmanship.
If you are interested in a new steel guitar, or just want some more information, I would love to hear from you! Please click my contact page to get in touch with me."
Sincerely,
Lamar Colvin
